By mrasor Published: January 7, 2009

Previously, I listed the best moments of last year. Perhaps equally important are the worst moments.

    Here they are...

    2) Men's basketball -- Kent State beats Akron in MAC Championship.
    3) Football -- Zips fumble in double-overtime against Buffalo, relinquishing their hold on the division lead.
    4) Men's basketball -- UMass uses a 17-2 run late in the game to eliminate Zips from NIT.
    5) Football -- Akron loses to Temple because of special teams and quarterback problems, missing an opportunity to be bowl-eligible.
    6) Men's soccer -- Akron's season ends on Northwestern's icy field in the Sweet Sixteen.
    7) Men's basketball -- KSU's Al Fisher drains a last-second 3 to extinguish Akron's comeback attempt at Rhodes Arena.
8 ) Men's basketball -- Northern Illinois snaps Akron's 22-game home winning streak at Rhodes Arena.
    9) Football -- NCAA suspends Ryan Bain for a year after the lineman tests positive for a banned substance.
    10) Men's golf -- Top player Vaughn Snyder transfers to Ohio State.
