Akron adds safety from Medina
Football
Akron reportedly locked up Benny Cunningham, a safety from Medina, by offering him playing time as a true freshman, the Plain Dealer reports.
Cunningham's brother, Seth, is also safety for the Zips.
Men's Basketball

In the first game, Chauncey Gilliam led Akron with 21 points as the Zips won 112-59. Newcomers Nick Harney (14), Blake Justice (11) and Adedeji Ibitayo (10) also scored in double figures.
