An interesting story
Men's basketball
Last night, my rec league team took a devastating defeat in the playoffs, 75-35. On the opposing team was a super-athletic guard, who appeared to be about 6-foot-4. He hit several 3 pointers from far beyond even NBA-range. His lateral quickness was outstanding. He rebounded and defended very well.
He was wearing a Zips practice jersey with the No. 15 on it. I didn't think anything of it at the time. Maybe he tried to walk on at one point, I thought.
I was wrong. After checking out No. 15 on GoZips.com, I realized he was Jimmy Conyers, Akron's star recruit who is not playing this season due to a transcript error. I suppose it could've been another No. 15, who happened to be an amazing player with the same height as Conyers. He also looked just like him.
That's not likely. Now I don't feel so bad about being crushed in a rec league game.
