Can't give out scholarships
Men's basketball
Kent State will lose two scholarship for next year because of the NCAA's regulations on Academic Progress Rate. Apparently, a handful of Flashes left the program. Some had poor grades. So Kent won't have as many scholarships to replace its four seniors next year.
In football, Temple lost nine scholarships, Toledo six, Buffalo three and Northern Illinois two. Not good news for MAC schools.
By the way, Gary Waters stepped down as coach at Rutgers. The former Kent State coach said he has interest in coming back to the Midwest.
