Tim Carroll complained of chest pain before yesterday's practice. He participated anyhow.
The Zips' walk-on collapsed after a shooting drill, the Buchtelite reports. He was taken to Akron General Hospital.
Keith Dambrot said it was the worst thing he's ever been involved with. Nate Linhart said Carroll is doing OK. The team cancelled practice and resumed in the evening.

    Today's news clips...
Miami snuck past Buffalo last night, winning 69-68. It was not exactly that close, as Buffalo hit a meaningless 3 at the buzzer. Still, Miami should be worried heading into its 9:30 p.m. matchup with Ohio.
The Buchtelite -- Dambrot said Day One is especially hard.
The Buchtelite -- Cedrick Middleton talks about his pain-filled season.
Akron Beacon Journal -- The Zips are optimistic heading to Cleveland.
CMU forward Nate Minnoy is suspended for disciplinary reasons. Minnoy single-handedly beat the Zips last game.
Odds -- The Zips are eight-point favorites.
Today's schedule at The Q: EMU vs. WMU -- noon Akron vs. CMU -- 2:30 Toledo vs. Kent State -- 7 Miami vs. Ohio
