The most important question for this offseason was whether Nik Cvetinovic would return to the Zips for his final season, as opposed to returning to play professionally in Europe.
Keith Dambrot got the answer he wanted. The Serb will return, according to the PD's Elton Alexander.
More good news for Dambrot: Dakotah Euton has transferred out. That will take care of the scholarship crunch.
With Cvetinovic, Akron would have a sizable hole in the frontcourt and would need to rely on a newcomer. It's obvious that Cvetinovic will start at power forward, and Zeke Marshall will be the center. After that, it's a free-for-all for the backup minutes between Josh Egner, Demetrius Treadwell, and Nick Harney.
As for Euton, he never really fit in with the team. Sources say that there were some disputes relating to Brett McKnight's return to the team. After it became apparent that Euton was going to be part of the rotation, the Kentucky native began just going through the motions.
Also this ... The team celebration is tonight at 6 p.m. at Rhodes Arena. It coincides with the university's SpringFest, so things are likely to be sort of crazy. Click here for more details.
