University of Akron men’s basketball player Nikola Cvetinovic has been named to the Serbian National Team for the 2011 World University Games, which will take place August 13-22 in China.

Cvetinovic, a senior forward, will be competing for his country’s national team for the first time at any level.

The defending NCAA national champion University of Akron men's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in a preseason poll conducted by Goal.com.

The Zips, who start the regular season later this month, won the school's first team national title in any sport last season.
