Dambrot: Zips more comfortable on road
Men's basketball
Nobody would have believed this three years ago, but Akron might be a better team on the road.
In Tom Gaffney's preview of tonight's game at Miami, Keith Dambrot says the Zips feel more comfortable away from Rhodes Arena.
Other notes...
The Zips are one-point underdogs tonight. Miami is the only MAC team that hasn't lost at home.
MAC standings implications -- At 8-4, the RedHawks would separate themselves from Buffalo in the race for the final first-round bye. At 9-3, the Zips would all but assure themselves of not needing to play on Sunday in the MAC Tournament.
Here is my liveblog post from the Zips' 20-point win earlier this season.
Other MAC-tion tonight... Kent State hosts Ohio. Buffalo hosts Bowling Green. Given the likely results of these games, Akron would really be boosting its stock by staying atop the standings tonight.
