Eastern Michigan next
Men's basketball
Central Michigan (2-11, 0-5) will be Akron's next victim Wednesday. The Zips (11-3, 4-0) have won eight of their last nine games. Something to watch for: fatigue. It will be Akron's third game in five nights.
The Beacon Journal covered the heck out of the game. Which I applaud.
Football
Coach J.D. Brookhart has interviewed nine candidates for the vacant linebacker coach position, says the ABJ's Gary Estwick.
Men's soccer
Tom Reed of the ABJ reported that Akron will interview four candidates for the men's soccer coaching job. My inside information tells me there is another candidate with ties to the West Coast and the Ivy League.
Miscellaneous
This wireless network at the university is terrific. I'm blogging, playing online poker and eating lunch between classes at the Student Union. This certainly is something the university needs to remind potential students.
