Score at the half: Akron 36, Walsh 22
First half notes...
Akron has pretty snazzy new uniforms. They have an angled navy stripe down the sides with blue lettering outlined in gold.
Walsh has jerseys almost identical to the real Cavaliers' wine road jerseys. Can someone explain to me how that's not a trademark infringement?
Jeremiah Wood and
First man off the bench? You'll never guess, so I'll tell you.
Walsh has a surprising amount of size. The Cavaliers' center is 7-foot. Another starter is 6-10.
Chris McKnight have shorts that reach their mid-calves. On me, they would be pants.
Linhart has put on some muscle. He's still thin because that's his body type, but the strength should help.
McNees found Wood for an open dunk. He definitely has some court vision. He loves to push the ball. Expect a fast-paced offense when he's on the floor. I like him already.
Negatives on McNees: He seems to still be figuring out
Keith Dambrot's defense. There were at least three communication errors between McNees and his fellow guards. His jumper, while accurate, is a knuckleball.
Nick Goddard entered the game at 13:08. He made his first 3-point attempt at 12:53. Goddard made his first pass at 11:28.
McKnight scrambled for a loose ball and found himself behind the first row of chairs.
If there's one player on the Zips whom I know I can't score on, it's
Jimmy Conyers. He suffocates his man when he has the ball.
Milum is looking really good. Really good. He even drilled a 3.
Steve Swiech to be redshirted. He didn't play. It would take an injury or two to get him on the floor. What does that say to me? He's not much further along than Bardo.
Cedrick Middleton didn't play because of his sore knee. It's nothing serious.
Attendance is pretty good if you don't count the season ticket holders. The lower bowl is almost empty.
