Former Zips safety passes away
Football
Two years ago, Tyler Campbell overcame long odds to become a walk-on starter on a Division I football team.
Campbell, 23, died on Saturday. By all accounts, Campbell was a hard-working, good kid. Here is the obituary.
The Campbell family will have a lot of Zips fans praying for them.
Other news:
- Akron picked up its first commitment for the 2011 class. He is Daryan Martin, a 6-foot-4 "athlete" from Cincinnati.
- The Bleacher Report is optimistic about the Zips' chances -- at least compared to other outlets. They are one of the few media that believes Akron won't be last in the MAC East (Buffalo, last).
