Frey chooses UConn
Football
Akron lost a duel with Connecticut for the commitment of Lehighton, Pa., running back Robbie Frey.
Frey is a three-star athlete, according to Scout.com. Rivals.com gives him two stars.
- My Cincinnati bureau, however, informed me that Akron has offered a scholarship to offensive lineman Michael Chacksfield from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Scout.com gives him two stars. Rivals.com agrees, but says his stock could rise.
- The ABJ's David Lee Morgan provided five reasons why the Zips will win the MAC. This is the most bizarre story I have read in a long time. It talks about Cory Snyder, Joe Carter, Larry Fitzgerald and Marshall University. Also, maybe I missed something being in Indianapolis all summer, but as far as I have heard, J.D. Brookhart hasn't signed an extension.
