Game notes - Akron at Eastern Michigan
Football
Apparently, oddsmakers were not very impressed with Akron's 36-13 win over VMI.
The Zips are still 8.5 point underdogs at Eastern Michigan.
The difference may be whether Akron can maintain its advantage in the running game, behind Jawon Chisholm.
The PD's Elton Alexander reports that Chisholm wants to carry the ball a "trillion" times, if that's what it takes for Akron to be successful. Until consistency arrives in the passing game, that's probably what it will take.
EMU also relies on its running game. The Eagles lead the MAC with 234.2 rushing yards per game. Their passing attack is mostly harmless. These are the total passing yards in EMU's first four games: 105 against Howard, 61 against Alabama State, 29 against Michigan, and 202 against Penn State.
