Men's basketball

    Notes...
Heading into Akron's game at Kent State, the PD's Elton Alexander had a Q&A with Keith Dambrot.
Kent State is a four-point favorite tonight.
The game will be on Time Warner channel 79
GoZips.com says Kent State leads the all-time series, 62-60. Akron has won the last four.

Prediction -- This will come down to Jeremiah Wood. If he is able to score inside, Akron will be able to get Kent State in foul trouble. The Zips' attack will be more consistent if it focuses on Wood's inside play than 3-pointers -- especially at a hostile road environment. Don't fool yourself, this game will be very close. It can go either way.
Akron 71, Kent State 68
Football
Akron might have the tall, downfield receiver it lost when Jabari Arthur graduated.
A source tells me Deryn Bowser, a receiver from a Los Angeles junior college, committed to Akron.
Bowser is 6-foot-3 and runs a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. Scout.com gives him four stars. Rivals.com gives him three.
    Also this...
Will Fleming from Hoban picked up an offer from Michigan State. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
