Akron is a 14-point
favorite. It sounds like a fair spread, but I think the Zips will cover.
Ball State leads the all-time series, 15-12, according to
GoZips.com. I assume a lot of those wins came during the
Bonzi Wells era of the mid '90s. Akron has won the past four meetings.
Tom Gaffneychronicled the life and career of
Nikola Cvetinovic. It's a good read.

Elton Alexander wrote a humorous
story about the bond between the McKnight brothers. (Zips fans should be thankful they have two hard-working, intelligent writers on their beat. I guarantee you that's not true around the MAC -- or even the NBA.)
Is it possible that the MAC West is heating up? Yesterday's
results might suggest that. Central Michigan beat Miami in a game that went down to the last minute in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Northern Illinois took Kent State to double-overtime, where the Flashes prevailed in DeKalb, Ill.
The good news, of course, is that Miami lost its third MAC game. If Akron wins tonight, the Zips move into a tie for second in the conference. Buffalo, Bowling Green and Ohio each will play road games in the next two days. It would be nice to bring Buffalo down a notch or see the latter two fall off Akron's heels.
I will liveblog tonight from Rhodes Arena.
