Hazime tears ACL, out for senior season
Football
Senior defensive lineman Hasan Hazime tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in last week's loss to Cincinnati, and he will miss the rest of the season.
That's a tough hit for the Zips, whose only strength (and that's using the term liberally) appeared to be the front four on defense.
On the upside, on Saturday Akron will see the return of cornerbacks Anthony Holmes and Bill Alexander, lineman Nico Caponi and linebacker Matt Little. The game starts at 2 p.m.
. . .
As many of you pointed out, FIU is no longer an awful team. My mistake. Still, it's a home game against a below-average FBS team.
