How Akron can make Detroit
Football
"We're going to take it one game at a time."
It is so annoying to hear a coach say that. It's also an ultimate truth for the Zips to return to Detroit.
Akron, without question, must win its final three games against Buffalo, at Ohio and home versus Western Michigan.
After that, the Zips must have favorable outcomes in two of three other games...
- Ohio must lose at Miami on Nov. 24.
- Kent State must lose at home against Eastern Michigan in two weeks
- Kent State must lose in three weeks at Ball State, who gave No. 2 Michigan a scare today.
Of course, the Zips must win out. With a trip to Athens, that will be difficult. However, it's certainly too early to give up. There is an interesting thread on ZipsNation.org about this. It seems a three-way tiebreaker would favor Akron. Sound familiar?
- Zips quarterback recruit Matt Rodgers is playing very well in the high school playoffs. J.D. Brookhart must be great at pulling in quality signal callers.
