Incoming Zips softball players honored
From a University of Akron press release:
With the 2012 collegiate softball season in the books, it is the Akron softball team making headlines in Northeast Ohio as the accolades continue to roll in for the 2012 freshman class.
On June 6, it was announced that incoming freshman Kenzie Conrad was awarded the 2011-12 Gatorade Ohio Softball Player of the Year. However, Conrad is not the only future Zip making headlines.
When the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (OHSFSCA) released its annual All-Ohio honors, all five members of the incoming class were honored. Conrad and Keystone High School teammate Erin Pond earned First-Team honors (DII), along with Central Catholic’s Erin Seiler (DI). Kenzi Rhodes (Highland High School) was named Second-Team All-Ohio in Division II while Massillon Washington’s Jessica Reiman was named Honorable Mention All-Ohio (DII).
