Kent State rallies to beat Akron
A flawless perfect first half gave way to mistakes in the second leading the University of Akron to lose to rival Kent State 35-24 at Dix Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Zips took a 24-14 into halftiime but wasn't able to buiild on it as a fired up Kent State defense came out of the locker room and ready to play, shutting the Zips out in the final two quarters.
Ziips QB Dalton Willaims hit 30-of-41 passes for 312 yards and two scores. Running back Jawon Chisholm ran for 115 yards including a 50-yard TD run, but also had a pivotal fumble.
Flashes running backs Dri Archer (126 yards) and Trayion Spencer (109 yards) combined for 233 yards,
Kent State is now 8-1, 5-0 in the MAC.
