Men's basketball: John Carroll vs. Zips
Akron vs. John Carroll
7 p.m, James A. Rhodes Arena
Key matchups: Personally, I don’t really view any matchup as key here. Expect the Zips to show up, do their best to inflict their will. But what is important is just how they do that without forwards Demetrius Treadwell and Nick Harney. Coach Keith Dambrot would have been using this game to concentrate on one thing as the team heads off to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in Beyamon Thursday against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. At this point Dambrot knows most of his starting line-up is. Against Coastal Carolina last Friday he started freshman Jake Kretzer in what would have been Treadwell’s spot. He delivered a solid game with 15 point game that included 4-of-9 from the three-point arc. Fellow freshman Reggie McAdams provided some lift from the bench in the loss with 12 points. Dambrot will concentrate on getting this game won and solidifying his rotation for Beyamonn when the team will be handicapped without their full squad.
