New recruit
Football
The Zips received a commitment from an outside linebacker from Warrensville Heights. Amin Kabir chose the Zips over Toledo, Ashland, Youngstown State and Eastern Michigan. I can't find him on Rivals.com or Scout.com.
Miscellaneous
The Plain Dealer keeps writing about this Zips. This time, they wrote a spinoff of The Associated Press article I posted yesterday. Bravo, PD. Could it be that Cleveland is looking for a college to support now that Cleveland State's basketball is garbage?
Men's and women's basketball
Tom Gaffney of the ABJ wrote two good stories on the Zips today. The first was about how hard it is to win a men's basketball game on the road in the MAC. The second was about freshman guard-forward Niki McCoy, who is giving fans a reason to care about women's basketball.
Everyone who dogs on the ABJ sports department should pay attention because the Zips are getting just as much coverage as the Cavaliers, Browns or Indians.
