New starting LB catches coaches' eyes
Football
Head coach J.D. Brookhart and linebackers coach Vince Okruch heaved praise at freshman linebacker Brian Wagner, who earned the starting middle linebacker position. He takes over for Kevin Grant.
Tom Gaffney wrote a great feature on Wagner. It will excite you about the Zips' young linebacking crew.
I will attend practice tomorrow and report back in the mid-afternoon.
Men's basketball
In what has become an annual tradition, Kent State and Akron will compete in the final regular-season game of 2009-10.
