    The ABJ's Tom Gaffney talked about how the team developed in a hostile environment.
    The Springfield News-Sun's Chick Ludwig said Dayton needed a great performance from each Flyer to beat Akron.

The Tribune-Chronicle (in Warren, Ohio) featured Eric Baker, aka the body inside Zippy, and his efforts in the Capital One Mascot Competition.
For starters, he launched Facebook and MySpace groups and got his high school band involved.
The ABJ's David Giffels also wrote about the trimphant victory. He discussed it from an Akro-centric point of view.

    Mike Balogun, linebacker, Lackawanna C.C. (Pa.) Offers: Akron, Michigan State, Marshall, UNLV and Buffalo Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 250 Speed: 4.6 Notes: Balogun visited Akron in late November. The Zips are one of his three finalists, along with Michigan State and Marshall. reports that Balogun has a cousin who plays at Akron, but does not provide the cousin's name. Balogun was his conference's player of the year after he took off two years after high school to work in construction. adds that Balogun has interest in Ole Miss.
    Zach Domicone, safety, Xenia, Ohio Offers: Akron, Connecticut, Nebraska, Air Force and Ohio Height: 6-2 Weight: 210 Speed: 4.6 Notes: instead calls him an "athlete" with a 40-yard dash time of 4.47. He has narrowed his college choices down to Connecticut and Nebraska.
