Here is what today's newspapers said about Akron's win over Buffalo...
Akron Beacon Journal -- Free throws rescued an otherwise miserable shooting performance. Keith Dambrot said his team has been ridiculed in the past for its free throw shooting. I wonder if he's talking about this column.
Buffalo News -- The Bulls hadn't played at home in 42 days. Switching to a 1-3-1 zone helped the Bulls chip away at Akron's lead. Be assured that other teams in the league were watching.
Buffalo News -- Columnist Jerry Sullivan says Buffalo lacks size. That's evident by 6-foot-3 Calvin Betts playing power forward.
Niagara Gazette -- Buffalo's Vadim Fedotov, whose father was visiting from Russia for the game, was injured in the second half. He was howling in pain, grabbing the same knee in which he tore an ACL as a freshman. You have to feel bad for the guy.
The Zips are 107th in RPI. Miami, Kent State and Ohio are all in the 30s and 40s.
