Akron's next game is Saturday at home against Buffalo. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
News clips from the game
Men's basketball
Before I get to the articles, let me give credit to Kent State for a huge win over St. Mary's last night.
A great performance by point guard Al Fisher and an awful shooting night for the Gaels led to a 65-57 Flashes win.
Unlike Akron, Kent State has managed to improve throughout the season. The Zips, of course, have been hampered by injuries. They still could find momentum before the MAC Tournament.

Here's what today's newspapers had to say about the Zips' loss...
Plain Dealer -- Despite the score, it was a victory for Akron, who can regroup with a full staff for the rest of the season.
Akron Beacon Journal -- The Zips got good looks at the hoop, but were simply inaccurate.
Richmond Times-Gazette -- Keith Dambrot got Larry Sanders confused with Dikembe Mutombo. (Sanders really did win the game for the Rams. He's a weapon. That's why the Zips are pursuing a similar player in 6-foot-11.5 Zeke Marshall.)
