Patriot Bowl excites Brookhart
Football
J.D. Brookhart told the ABJ's Stephanie Storm he is excited to play Army at Cleveland Browns Stadium next season.
I'm certain the coaches are hoping the game helps with recruiting. Also, playing at the Rubber Bowl is no fun, even if it's your home field.
While I love the setting -- near the airport, surrounded by a wooded area -- and the building structure -- a giant bowl, the place is falling apart, thereby negating anything the Rubber Bowl had going for it.
Still, when the place closes in two years, it will be sad to see the memories go.
Men's basketball
I'm having a hard time getting into this year's NCAA Tournament.
Usually, I rise and fall with each jump shot on a first round game. This year, it doesn't bother me that two of my Cinderalla teams -- Oral Roberts and Old Dominion -- have bowed out.
Seeing Tim Pollitz on the cover of Sports Illustrated isn't cool either. Still, I'll root for the RedHawks against Oregon tomorrow evening.
