• Tonight you may have seen the reason why many MAC teams use FieldTurf. Bowling Green's field was a big mud pit, and that's no exaggeration. More importantly, however, Miami beat the Falcons. That eliminates the possibility of a four-way tie for the MAC East, which Kent State hypothetically would win.

My choice was Dwight Howard. They disagreed.

• Future Zips opponent Oral Roberts upset No. 3 Kansas tonight in Lawrence. Pretty friggin impressive. The Zips will play at their house on Dec. 2. Another Zips opponent, Loyola Marymount, recently beat Oral Roberts, too. If Akron can win both, it would be a huge RPI boost.
