Porter's new contract includes $100K salary boost, large penalty if he leaves
Men's soccer
Akron is now taking care of its soccer coach how it should.
Starting January 1, Caleb Porter will receive an extra $100K in salary and $800 per month for a vehicle.
The new agreement provides some security to ensure Porter remains in blue and gold. Akron will pay $15,000 per year into an escrow account, which will be dumped into Porter's possession if Porter stays through February 28, 2021. Porter also must pay $200,000 if he leaves in the next three years, and $150,000 if he leaves prematurely in any year after that.
