Men's soccer
Akron played tight with the Columbus Crew on Monday, but fell 1-0 thanks to a Matt Tutich header in the 48th minute.
Tutich and Ossie Michalsen, former Zips, helped fill the Crew's bench as several members of the defending MLS champions were absent.
True freshman goalkeeper David Meves played the entire game for Akron, making three saves. Columbus led Akron with shots on goal, 5-2.
The exhibition concludes Akron's successful spring season. Coach Caleb Porter said this to "I am extremely excited for next fall and have never been more confident that this team has all the ingredients to have a very successful season."
It's almost exam time again. Forgive me if I'm a little behind on the blogging.
