SF transfer from Xavier to Akron

By mrasor Published: August 11, 2010

Akron added another forward to the mix with the transfer of Brian Walsh, a 6-foot-4 forward who played five minutes a game in his sophomore year at Xavier.
Playing behind NBA draftee Jordan Crawford, Walsh did not get the playing time he hoped for. He felt comfortable with Keith Dambrot, who recruited him three years earlier.
Walsh had 11 scholarship offers coming out of Moon High School in Coraopolis, Pa., from schools in the MAC, Atlantic-10, ACC and Big Ten. His two finalists were Xavier and Maryland.
Akron still has another scholarship to fill for 2011 because point guard Dylan Ennis reopened his recruitment, although he insists that the Zips are still in play.
