Signing Day today
Football
Hello, all. Today is a big day.I will be updating every hour on recruiting news today -- Signing Day 2006.
I'll start with news I mentioned about a month ago.
Three-star JUCO wide receiver David Harvey signed a letter of intent with Akron. Since he came from junior college, he will be eligible to play next season. Harvey is 6-foot-1 and runs a 4.4 40.
Harvey played one year of junior college ball in Pennsylvania. As a 2005 recruit, Scout.com listed him as a four-star player. He had interest from Penn State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Georgia and Iowa.
Men's basketball
VanDelaySports.com came out with its MAC Basketball Power Rankings for this week. Akron remains on top despite a loss to Ohio. Kent State is second, followed by Miami and Ohio. The site is starting to recognize that the Zips opponent tonight, Buffalo, actually sucks. The Bulls are No. 6.
Speaking of the game, here are some game notes...
