Soccer recruit Conor Hundley on U.S. U-19 team
University of Akron incoming freshman running back Conor Hundley will participate in the U.S. Under-19 National Team this summer in Austin, Texas as part of the International Federation of American Football World Championship.
Hundley, who signed with Akron on Feb. 1, is the only Ohio player to be a part of the team because several players need to report to their college camps early in the summer. Hundley doesn’t have to report to the Zips’ camp until July 9, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Teams from American Samoa, Austria, Canada, France, Japan, Panama, Sweden and the United States will start the tournament with a schedule of four games starting June 30 and concludes July 7 in Austin.
Cincinnati St. Xavier High School coach Steve Specht is the U.S. head coach.
Hundley verbally committed to Akron in January. He rushed for 1,136 yards and 19 touchdowns for St. X, which was a Division I state semifinalist.
