It's looking more and more like Andy Alleman will be the highest Zips player ever taken in the NFL Draft.
Two New England Patriots coaches flew into town and will take a private look at Alleman tomorrow. Last week, the former Zips guard worked out for Kansas City. Alleman will fly to Dallas the first week of April so the Cowboys can check him out.
Chiefs' offensive line coach John Matsko left this voicemail with Alleman: "You've got a great future in the National Football League.
Before we throw a party for Alleman, I'll address some concerns one scouting Web site has with him. First, he had several false start penalties. Second, his technique is shaky (as one might expect for a player with only two years of experience at a position).
I predict a team to take Alleman somewhere around where Dwight Smith went, which is the middle of the third round. Of course, the way his stock is rising, it could be the late second round.
