Three players recently committed to Akron...
The most notable is Chase Hoobler, a three-star linebacker with offers from Louisville, Indiana and Boston College, among others. Before committing, he told Rivals.com that he wanted to go somewhere he could play at a school that competes at the top of its conference. Hoobler will be one of the premier players in the 2010 class.
Another top player is Seth Cunningham, a defensive back with offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, North Carolina and Western Michigan. The Lakewood St. Edward's product runs a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash. He said his visit to Akron blew him away -- particularly the hug from J.D. Brookhart.
The No. 62 player in Ohio also committed to Akron, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Anthony Schrock is a 6-foot-2 receiver from Wadsworth. Schrock also had an offer from Bowling Green. Rivals.com says Schrock's stock is rising.
