If you shoot 32 percent from the field against a better team on the road, the final score will be ugly.
It was on Saturday, when Akron lost 70-53 to Virginia Commonwealth in the BracketBuster game on ESPNU.
If you asked me how much I care about this game, the answer would be "barely." The Zips aren't on the verge of breaking into the top 25, nor will they hold their breath on Selection Sunday should they fail to win the MAC Tournament.
Akron plays an important game Wednesday at home against Buffalo. A win will clinch a first-round bye in the MAC Tournament.
