Jeremiah Wood will miss four weeks with a torn lateral meniscus in the same knee that caused him to sit out most of the 2005 season.
The Zips will have to rely on Chris McKnight, Quade Milum and Mike Bardo to usurp Wood's 13.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
Ideally, the Zips would love to get him back for the game at Ohio for limited action so he can be closer to full strength when Kent State visits Rhodes Arena on March 9.
It's definitely a setback. It could be good, in a way. Wood's knee has been bothering him for a while. It's better to get him healed before the games that really matter. Also, the Zips need to develop their post players for next season.
