Zips basketball: Marshall opens some eyes
On NIU from the UA Athletics Department:
- A victory would snap a four-game road losing streak for the Zips dating back to last season’s season finale at Kent State (March 2, 2012).
- A win would be the third for the Zips in the last four games against NIU.
- A victory would give the Zips at least a share of the East Division lead for the 11th-straight week during league play.
Giving props: Zeke Marshall is getting some love from SI.com's Luke Winn. Winn, a college hoops writer, said that Marshall is poised to have a breakout second half:
If the Zips reach the NCAA tournament -- and they've been the best team in the MAC thus far -- Marshall could have an Omar Samhan-like swan song.
TV update: ESPNU added two UA games to its schedule recently. The Jan. 19th game at Kent will air at 3 p.m. and their Feb. 2 game at home against Ohio will be broadcast at 5 p.m.
