Zips capture another road win on Harney's late heroics
Men's basketball
Nick Harney's floater gave Akron's its biggest lead of the game of one point. But it was sufficient to give the Zips another valuable road victory in the MAC.
The excitement even elicited two tweets from legendary coach Bobby Bowden:
Congratulations to the Akron Zips Men's basketball team on their great come from behind win tonight over Bowling Green! Down by 13 with about 15 mins left, and kept playing hard. Great job Coach Dambrot.
The Zips now sit atop the MAC East at 2-0, and they are the only team without a loss in the division.
Next up is a home game against Ohio University at 4 p.m. If the Bobcats are hot, it will be a difficult game.
