Zips crush Binghamton
Men's basketball
Silly me to think this game would be close.
Akron slammed Binghamton 90-55 in a contest that wasn't worth watching for more than a few minutes after tipoff.
Jeremiah Wood was bouncy, Keith Dambrot said afterward. I suppose that means he was back to his old self. He dropped 14 points and 12 rebounds on the Bearcats. Nick Dials (14) and Dru Joyce (10) also scored in double figures.
Buchtelite sports editor Adam Ferrise just got off the phone with the coach, who added he was pleased with the team's defense and bench play. He got quality minutes from Jimmy Conyers, Chris McKnight, Quade Milum and Tim Carroll, who saw his first action of the year in the first half.
