Zips earn 1 point in AP poll
Men's basketball
The AP Poll gave the Zips one top-25 vote, making them about 49th in the country.
Football
J.D. Brookhart often says mid-majors have a difficult time finding solid defensive linemen.
Although the Zips will lose Kiki Gonzalez and Jermaine Reid, they may pick up a couple others.
Chris Leatigaga, a redshirt sophomore at a junior college in California, is considering a transfer to Akron. Scout.com gives Leatigaga three stars.
Also, Captain Kangaroo of ZipsNation.org is reporting Antwon Hight may return to campus. Hight, a two-star defensive end from Canton McKinley, did not qualify for grades after committing to Akron in 2005.
Men's soccer
