By mrasor Published: September 4, 2007

Men's soccer
Akron is the 18th best team in the country, according to the new national poll.
The Zips will fight to keep it this weekend with games against No. 1 Wake Forest and North Carolina, a team that received votes just shy of the top 25.

The Zips made another scholarship offer...
Jeff Adams, offensive line, La Grange, Ill. Offers: Akron Height: 6-foot-6 Weight: 275 Speed: 5.2 Notes: does not list Adams at all. Scout says he could play guard or tackle in college. Adams is a three-year starter and earned all-conference honors as a junior. Likelihood: He also has interest in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

    Some media clips from today...
PD: Special teams could be to the Zips' advantage on Saturday. ABJ: Akron's defense propelled it to victory on Saturday. Columbus Dispatch: J.D. Brookhart talks about what he's up against on Saturday.
