Zips earn No. 18 national ranking
Men's soccer
Akron is the 18th best team in the country, according to the new national poll.
The Zips will fight to keep it this weekend with games against No. 1 Wake Forest and North Carolina, a team that received votes just shy of the top 25.

Jeff Adams, offensive line, La Grange, Ill. Offers: Akron Height: 6-foot-6 Weight: 275 Speed: 5.2 Notes: Rivals.com does not list Adams at all. Scout says he could play guard or tackle in college. Adams is a three-year starter and earned all-conference honors as a junior. Likelihood: He also has interest in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.
