Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all. For those who do not celebrate Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa or Happy Festivus. I used to get worked up when people said Happy Holidays, rather than Merry Christmas, but I've realized that there's no sense in offending people.

New athletic director Mack Rhoades got back to me tonight. I can confirm he will be announced as the University of Akron's new athletic director tomorrow. He apologized for the delay in getting back to me and asked about my weekend. Sounds like a class act, just as advertised.

Fear the gear
You can get your Fear the Roo gear online, or at least you will be able to soon. Check this site for phone numbers to call if the Web shopping isn't stocked with Fear gear. This isn't a lame advertisement for the athletic department. I'm posting this because several fans have asked me how to get the cool shirts we were all wearing at the MAC Championship.

Top 10 plays of the year
The Buchtelite published its top sports moments from this fall. It has been one heckuva season, so the list is quite robust. Mike Hixenbaugh and Kiel Fleming compiled 10 moments, then I ranked them one to 10.
