Zips lasso Cowboys for road win
Men's basketball
On the back of Akron's workhorse Jimmy Conyers, the Zips rallied from a seven-point second-half deficit to win at Wyoming, 85-76.
Conyers continued his torrid senior season with 13 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Other notable contributions came from Humpty Hitchens (16 points), Brett McKnight (16) and Steve McNees (14).
Neither team took care of the ball. The Zips and Cowboys combined for 43 turnovers. The difference was 3-point shooting, where Akron made 9-of-16, while Wyoming was 1-of-9.
The Zips return home for a game against Rhode Island Tuesday at 7 p.m. I will be out of town, so unfortunately I can't cover it.
