Zips lose to Louisville

By mrasor Published: December 10, 2005

Men's basketball

Don't be upset, but Louisville crushed Akron, 111-85. I think crushed might be the wrong verb. Akron shot well and took care of the ball. Playing at Freedom Hall, not many teams in the country can lose by less than 10 to the Cardinals. Romeo Travis led Akron in scoring with 21. Taquan Dean nearly had a triple-double with 22, eight and eight. He's a star and put up star numbers. Akron gets nine days off before going to Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout.

By the way, I'm writing a story about the last time Akron mattered in football - 1976. If you were at Akron then, please e-mail me or leave a comment about the school's atmosphere and fan support was like.
