Zips strong in first half

Akron has played stiff defense to take a 34-24 lead over Oral Roberts at halftime.
The Golden Eagles' shooting percentages were horrible, while the Zips ran a smooth offense to build a lead.
Oral Roberts star Caleb Green has 12 points. Without him, this would be a blowout. Nick Dials has seven for Akron. Jeremiah Wood has 11. Dru Joyce has four assists, four rebounds and five points.
Romeo Travis and Cedrick Middleton are in foul trouble with two each. The Zips certainly will need Travis in the second half to neutralize Green.
Despite the 10-point lead, Akron must play better. Some of these Oral Roberts 3-pointers eventually will fall.
