Zips top Bowling Green
Men's basketball
Akron weathered a Bowling Green surge with free throws to win, 65-56.
Cedrick Middleton and two other Zips led the team with 14 points.
Although Akron is on a streak of poor play, a resurgence from Middleton could provide a boost to carry the team until Jeremiah Wood returns. The Zips will play next at Miami on Tuesday.
