Beaven also wrote a story about what experts think of Akron's recruiting class. The verdict: Almost unanimous No. 1 in the nation.

Recruiting notes...
Josh Sewell, a 6-foot-5 small forward from Louisville, told Scout.com that Akron is recruiting him hardest. Sewell has about 10 offers from decent programs. Could this be Jeff Boals' coup for 2010?
You have probably seen two tall high school players at recent home games. One is Zeke Marshall. The other is Kent Roosevelt junior Cameron Black II. His father, Cameron, is the head coach at Roosevelt. On Friday, Black had 17 points and seven rebounds against Ravenna. After watching him a couple times, the ABJ's Michael Beaven said this about Black: "I think he is a pretty good player. He is about 6-8 or 6-9 and probably about 220 pounds or so. He scores mostly around the basket and is a good rebounder. He probably needs to add some muscle to play in the MAC."
Terry Pluto recently wrote about Keith Dambrot's recruiting strategy of avoiding junior college players. Kendall Durant is a three-star juco point guard with interest in Akron. He has several big-time offers, too, but not one from Dambrot.
