Zips women win Evans Invitational cross country title
The University of Akron women's cross country team opened the 2009 season Saturday by winning the Tommy Evans Invitational at Firestone Metro Park in Akron.
The Zips women won their second Tommy Evans Invitational title in a row, and the Zips men placed second to rival Kent State.
UA junior Kim Lorentz won her second consecutive Tommy Evans Invitational individual title. Zips Cassie Schenck, Danielle Sidell and Larisa Arcip finished sixth, seventh, and ninth respectively.
Zips junior Joe McCoy finished sixth in the men's meet.
The men's and women's meets each had five teams.
