Applegarth resigns as Cuyahoga Falls softball coach

Kim Applegarth has resigned as softball coach at Cuyahoga Falls High School.

“Both my parents have some medical issues and it just felt like the right time to retire. I have no regrets,” Applegarth said.

Applegarth has coached softball for 22 years, 17 years at Cuyahoga Falls, winning championships both in the Metro League and the Western Reserve Conference.

The 2001 Black Tigers were 22-4, winning the Akron Division I district and defeating Madison 4-1 in the regional semifinal before losing 3-2 to Boardman in the regional final.
