Aquinas’ Rich commits to Boston College

By Michael Beaven Published: July 10, 2012
St. Thomas Aquinas senior-to-be Joel Rich has committed to continue his academic and football careers at Boston College.
Boston College recruited the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Rich to play defensive end. He is also a playmaker catching the ball on offense, and runs the hurdle events for the Knights track and field team.
Rich helped Aquinas reach the state football playoffs last season for the first time in 23 years, as the Knights won a first-round game and finished 7-5 in Division V under coach Tim Budd.
Rich earned All-Ohio Division V third-team honors after leading the team with eight sacks and 16 quarterback pressures. He also had 66 total tackles and forced two fumbles.
Offensively, he had 15 receptions for 205 yards and one touchdown.
